The eve of Witold Lutosławski’s birth, January 24 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw saw the celebratory presentation of first medals of the Lutosławski Centennial. The medals, prepared by the Witold Lutosławski Society in collaboration with the Institute of Music and Dance on the occasion of the composer’s anniversary, were awarded to individuals who made outstanding contributions in the popularization of Witold Lutosławski’s music and the dissemination of knowledge about him as a person, and to the composer’s family as well his friends, collaborators in artistic endeavours, and partners in social activities.
